About Optserv
What is Optserv?
Optserv is an end-to-end business operations platform for growing startups. It manages the full employee lifecycle — from hiring and onboarding, through HR and team account access, to automated offboarding access revocation — in one connected platform.
Who is Optserv built for?
Optserv is built for seed-to-Series A startups (10–50 people) where founders and ops leads are managing HR without a dedicated HR team. It's especially useful for remote and global teams that share SaaS tool credentials across the team.
How is Optserv different from Rippling or BambooHR?
Rippling and BambooHR are strong HR platforms, but they treat account access management as a separate concern (or don't address it at all). Optserv connects HR status directly to account access — when someone is marked inactive, they automatically lose access to every shared account. No IT ticket, no checklist.
Is Optserv available globally?
Yes. Optserv is designed for global teams and is not US-centric. The platform is available in English and Mandarin Chinese, with more languages on the roadmap.
Account Sharing & Access Management
How does HR-aware account sharing work?
You store your team's shared account credentials (Instagram, Supabase, Figma, etc.) in Optserv. Access to those credentials is tied to employment status. Active employees can see and use shared accounts. When someone is marked as inactive, they immediately lose access — no manual removal from a vault, no password rotation required.
What happens when an employee leaves?
When you mark an employee as inactive in Optserv, they immediately lose access to every shared account stored in the platform. You can then rotate passwords once — the update is reflected for all remaining active employees automatically.
How is this different from Bitwarden or 1Password for Teams?
Password managers store credentials and control vault membership. When someone leaves, you remove them from the vault — but they may have already seen or saved the passwords. With Optserv, access is tied to employment status, not vault membership. There's no window where a departing employee retains effective access after their status changes.
What kinds of accounts can be shared through Optserv?
Any account with a username and password — social media accounts, SaaS tools, cloud consoles, agency tools, email accounts, and more. Optserv doesn't require the tool to support SSO or any special integration.
Hiring & HR
Does Optserv have a built-in ATS?
Yes. You can create a branded career page, manage job openings, track applicants through a customizable hiring workflow (apply → review → interview → offer → hire), and have hired candidates flow directly into your HR database. No re-entry required.
How many job openings can I have for free?
The free plan includes up to 3 active job openings. The paid plan includes unlimited openings.
Is core HR really free?
Yes. Employee records, attendance tracking, leave management, and basic onboarding are free with no seat limits. You pay only when you need the full platform (account sharing, unlimited ATS, company ops).
Does Optserv handle payroll?
Not currently. Optserv focuses on HR records, access management, and ops workflows. Payroll integrations are on the roadmap.
Optserv School
What is Optserv School?
Optserv School is an extension of the platform for educational organizations — cram schools, tutoring centers, and private schools. It adds student barcode check-ins, class management, teacher HR, and attendance reporting, all connected to the same HR and ops platform.
Why is school management connected to HR?
Because teachers are employees. Optserv School lets you manage teacher employment records, payroll, leave, and access control alongside student-facing features — in one place instead of two separate systems.
